Pulse amplitude modulation as an indicative method for monitoring compliance of ballast water management – Walz Water PAM instrument test
Pulzno amplitudna modulacija kot indikativna metoda za nadzor ravnanja z balastnimi vodami – test instrumenta Walz Water PAM

- Povzetek: Ladje so eden glavnih prenašalcev škodljivih vodnih organizmov in mikrobnih povzročiteljev bolezni po svetu. Predpis D-2 Mednarodne konvencije za nadzor in ravnanje z ladijsko balastno vodo in usedlinami določa največje število za preživetje sposobnih organizmov na enoto prostornine zaradi preprečevanja prenosa, širjenja ter vnosa škodljivih vodnih organizmov in mikrobnih povzročiteljev bolezni po svetu. Konvencija tudi predpisuje inšpekcijski pregled balastnih vod vsake ladje za ugotavljanje skladnosti z zahtevami. Pomorska inšpekcija vzorči balastno vodo na ladji in izvaja hitre indikativne analize vzorcev balastne vode z indikativnimi instrumenti. Ocenili smo uporabnost instrumenta Walz Water PAM za indikativno analizo balastnih vod. Instrument pri meritvi oceni biomaso fitoplanktona (F0) v vzorcu in njegovo fotokemično učinkovitost (Fv/Fm). Meritve instrumenta smo primerjali z rezultati laboratorijske podrobne analize vzorcev za velikostno skupino organizmov z najmanjšim premerom 10–50 µm, skladno z zahtevami predpisa D-2. Instrument je pravilno ocenil vseh 19 v podrobni analizi skladnih vzorcev, od 95 v podrobni analizi neskladnih vzorcev pa jih je pravilno ocenil 88 (93 %). Zaključimo lahko, da je instrument primeren za indikativne analize pri nadzoru skladnosti balastne vode s Konvencijo.
